Jimmy Dale Boothe

Body

Memorial services for Jimmy Dale Boothe, 76 of Jonesville, LA were held at Boothe Cemetery in Harrisonburg on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at 9AM, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.

Jimmy Dale Boothe was born on Saturday, July 10, 1947, in Harrisonburg, LA. and passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Rapides General Medical Center in Alexandria, LA. Jimmy spent most of his life raising his family in the Sandy Lake area, where his neighbors became more like family members. There wasn't a kid within miles who didn't call him Uncle Jimmy Dale! He was a carpenter by trade and could build anything. Many houses in and around Jonesville were built by him and the men he worked with.

Jimmy loved spending time hunting, camping, fishing, riding four wheelers, or just sitting around a fire eating something cooked on the grill while visiting with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed the nights everyone got together for a game of cards. These crazy nights often turned into everyone claiming someone wasn't putting their money in the pot or that they were passing cards under the table, all in the name of fun! All someone had to do was mention going riding up in the Harrisonburg Hills and he was ready to go. He knew those hills like the back of his hands and spent many hours riding or walking the creek beds looking for Indian beads or arrow heads.

Jimmy Dale had a laid-back personality, rarely getting upset about anything. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who accepted everyone as they were. You rarely saw him when he wasn't in a cheerful mood or when he wasn't ready to drop whatever he was doing to stop and visit. He was always willing to help others and never expected or accepted anything in return. The lives of everyone he knew and loved will forever be changed with his passing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John E. Boothe and Emmie C. Boothe; second wife, Elida Marie Boothe; seven siblings, Charles Lee Boothe, Mary Sue Sanders, Alma Faye Goodwin, John Alvis Boothe, Roy Leon Boothe, Lloyd Edward Boothe and Kirby Jerome Boothe.

Jimmy Dale is survived by his daughters, Jelena Louise Cotton and her husband Robert of Columbia, LA, Penny Dianne Haddad and Jerry Moss of Jena, LA and Carolyn Denise McMahan and Johnny Jackson, of Crossett, AR; son, Jimmy Lionel Boothe and his wife Amy of Ruston, LA, daughter, Ada Margeret Pepper and Trinity Jones of Jonesville, LA; brothers, Thadious Shelton Boothe and his wife Sallie of Jena, LA and James Carson Boothe and his wife Donna of Harrisonburg, LA and sister, Martha Marie Dunn of Harrisonburg, LA.
