Ft. Beauregard was an enclosed casemated earthen Confederate fort on a hill in Harrisonburg, Louisiana on the Ouachita River. It was built in 1862 to protect Monroe, Louisiana from Federal gunboats that might go up the river. The Confederates also used it as a supply line.
The Catahoula Parish Library will be hosting Author Bobby Franklin on June 7, 2019 starting from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the Harrisonburg Branch. Bobby Franklin is the author of a new book called “Catahoula” and will signing books during his time at the library on the 7th. Mr.
This year, the Catahoula News Booster contacted all Catahoula parish high schools and asked them participate in a scholarship program to promote students and teachers. Students selected for this program were asked to report on school news/sports events each week.
