Block football was only able to grab two wins this season, but it was just enough to sneak into the playoffs. The Bears traveled to Montgomery this past Friday night to take on district foe Montgomery Tigers for the first round of the playoff games.

Block basketball participated in the Franklin Parish Jamboree last Thursday. Just a reminder that Jamboree games do not affect overall records and are not full games. They play two 5-minute halves.

Central traveled north of I-20 to take on the Demons of Downsville. The girls from Central High School came out on top by a score of 43-34.
The Sicily Island Tigers, looking to end the season on a positive note, traveled to take on a winless Tensas Panthers team Friday night. The Tigers did prevail in the late season contest by a score of 24-12.
The Bears hosted the St. Mary’s Tigers Friday night which ended in a heartbreaking 26-20 loss. Block played like they had a 7-2 record instead of the 2-7 record they possessed coming into the game.
Harrisonburg High School hosted a basketball jamboree Tuesday, October 29th where local teams met on the floor for their first action in this basketball season. There were six games played between a total of three schools.
Sicily Island hosted last years state runner up for class 1A, Oak Grove. Oak Grove, not as good as last year but still a talented team showed what made them contenders last year. They beat Sicily Island by the score of 57-8 on Friday night.
