Ms. Doris Richardson Alexander of Jena, Louisiana passed from this life surrounded by her loving family in the LaSalle Nursing Home of Jena on March 30, 2019. She was born February 11, 1920 to the union of Roy and Lula Richardson. Ms. Alexander was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Jena, Louisiana, and a former member of Oak Grove Baptist Church of Rhinehart, Louisiana. She was a sweet spirited soul, and was loved by all who knew her. She was a devoted church worker and especially loved the Lord. Ms. Alexander was retired from the education system and was a charter member of Delta Kappa Gamma. She will certainly be missed by all who knew her. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters Janis Aplin, and husband Marcus of Harrisonburg Louisiana, Martha Bryan, and husband Kenny, of Jena Louisiana. Grandchildren Jenny Parker, and husband Jamie, Lindsay Williams, Laurie Hunt, and husband Stephen, Beau Bryan, and wife Amanda. Great grandchildren Cydney Kate Parker, Sophie Williams, Lawson Henry, Easton and Kaiden Hunt. A special friend she considered a daughter Neva Ingram, and husband Reggie. Those honored to serve as Pallbearers were Brad Foster, Briscoe Price, Lawson Little, David Mitchell, Tom Watkins, and Sam Baker. Honorary Pallbearers were First Baptist Church Deacons, W.B. McCartney, Sr. Jean Andrews, Donny Richardson, and Ronald Renfrow. Visitation was held at the First Baptist Church of Jena, Louisiana on Sunday March 30, 2019, starting at 5:00PM. Services were held on Monday April 01, 2019, at 1:00PM at the First Baptist Church of Jena, Louisiana with Rev. Dominic DiCarlo, and Rev. Terry Townsend officiating. Interment followed in Alexander Cemetery under the direction of Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home of Jena.
