Both teams were strong on the bump in the State Semi-Finals in Sulphur on Wednesday May 8th, but Simpson was just a little bit stronger at the plate in a victory over Harrisonburg Bulldogs. Avery Smith started the game for Harrisonburg Bulldogs and recorded 18 outs.  One bright spot for Harrisonburg Bulldogs was a single by Noah Odom in the second inning.  Smith took the loss for Harrisonburg Bulldogs. He lasted six innings, allowing five hits and two runs while striking out three and walking one.  Bulldogs lost 2-0.  The Bulldogs want to thank all their fans that supported them. Coach Clay stated “ I am so proud of the 11 boys that represented our school, community, and team. They have nothing to hang heads about. They met every challenge presented to them with maturity and class. It was truly an honor to coach this group of young men. Thank you to all who supported us along the way.”
