Playoff basketball is underway, and the Lady Dawgs looked ready for the action.
Some might remember the Lady Dawgs made a good playoff run last year as they advanced to the quarterfinals before being knocked out by Plainview.
Harrisonburg starts these playoffs on a good note as the Lady Dawgs advanced to the regional round with a 45-38 win over South Cameron High School. That game was played in Harrisonburg last Thursday night.
Bailey Fuqua recorded a double-double where she tallied up 14 rebounds and 13 points. Abbey Hardie also got a double-double with 11 rebounds and 13 points.
The Lady Dawgs traveled to Summerfield to take on the #1 ranked Lady Rebels for the regional round of the playoffs.
A game in which they couldn’t hang with the firepower that Summerfield brought. The Lady Rebels won that game 64-35 and the Lady Dawgs season has come to an end.
Senior Bailey Fuqua wasn’t going away easy as she dropped 15 points in the game.
Attention now focuses to the Lady Dawgs softball team who are gearing up to make another strong run for a state championship. They think this year is their year.
