Nancy Perdue

Leo Buscaglia once said, “Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.” One individual, Nancy Perdue, happens to have all these qualities that we are recognizing today. Nancy is a friend and a lending hand to anyone in Catahoula Parish.

Kim Cloessner:
“I come to know Nancy, as many have, during the years she worked at Fred’s. Always a kind word and thank you. But on the night of December 6, 2024, her actions went beyond simple kindness. After the Jonesville Christmas parade, I was bringing my granddaughter Ally and her good friend Molly back to Monterey. It was one of the coldest nights on record for December. I hit a deer. All eight airbags deployed, and my car was totaled. I called my son and he was on his way, but we were standing on the side of the road in the cold. We could not get back in the car. Several cars went past, a few slowed down, but no one stopped. That is until Nancy drove past. She stopped to make sure we were ok, and that help was on the way, and she left. But just a minute later she came back, pulled over to the side of the road and told us to get in. “It is too cold for these babies and you to be outside,” she said. We were so thankful for her warm car. She stayed with us until Nathan got there and she knew we were safe. Thank you, Nancy! Those few minutes in your warm car will never be forgotten.”

Gary Odom:
“Nancy Perdue has been a good friend for many years. She worked for me at Fred's as a cashier and took care of our customers. She took a genuine interest in our business and our community. She was always a help to me and our customers. I have thanked her many times. I appreciate her kindness.”

We all want to thank you for your support and kindness to the community and making everyone smile.
