Ruth headed up the Wreath of Across America in our area – driving to Rayville, picking them up and setting up a distribution center at FBC’s gym in Jonesville. She always bought for her own family and a few extras for forgotten heroes.
She headed various church organizations, was a Sunday school teacher, WMU leader, bought and led bible studies for women in the community.
Ruth is also an American Legion leader. She organized veteran programs at BHS to recognize veterans and educate the students about their sacrifices. She also bought flags and decorated the Veterans Memorial near Grace Church in Jonesville with her own money. She keeps the cemetery by the car wash in Jonesville maintained.
She still randomly bakes cupcakes and mini pies to take them to businesses and people in the community. She always cooks and takes food to funerals, wakes, church activities, and to all the people throughout the community.
She also drives people to their doctor appointments and visits the Columns patients several times a week and participates in their daily activities.
