At a special meeting, Monday, July 15th, 2024, and apparently with the agreement of legal counsel, the Police Jury decided to delay a vote on the restructuring of a penny of the parish’s sales tax. I think this was a good idea inasmuch as there seems to be some confusion (okay, maybe it’s just me who is confused) about how the old tax actually worked and how the new tax needs to work....
