Eula Payne Moore

Funeral services for Eula Payne Moore, 93 of Ferriday, LA were held at Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at 11AM with Bro. Kevin Ulmer officiating. Interment followed at Greenlawn Memorial Park, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home. The family received friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10AM until service time at 11AM.

Eula was born on Monday, October 27, 1930, in Epps, LA and passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 28, 2024, in Jonesville, LA. Eula is a shining example of a hardworking, godly family woman whose life revolves around faith and love.

A dedicated member of Ferriday First Baptist Church, she has always prioritized her family and community. After retiring from South Bell as a service representative, Eula embraced her passions, from quilting and crocheting to painting and putting puzzles together.

Her heart is as big as her talents; she never hesitates to lend a helping hand to those in need. Even this past Christmas, she made sure her family was well-fed and gathered together, showcasing her nurturing spirit.

Eula loved traveling and creating cherished memories with her family on vacation, often planning trips that bring everyone closer together. In her downtime, she enjoys shopping and playing cards, always finding joy in the simplest activities.

Eula’s vibrant personality, combined with her commitment to her faith and family, makes her a beloved figure in her community, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she meets.

She is reunited with the love of her life, her husband, James H. Moore; parents, James Leon Payne and Regina Scott Payne; son-in-law, Michael Lewis Bowers; and sister, Jewel Copes and her husband Wilson.

Those left behind to cherish Eula's memories are her daughter, Regena Bowers of Ferriday, LA; son, Donald Allen Moore and his wife Abby of Baton Rouge, LA; brother, W.L. Payne and his wife Billie Marie of Epps, LA; grandchildren, Ben Bowers of Ferriday, Amy Orcutt and her husband Bud of Monterey, LA, Allen Moore and his wife Lisa of Baton Rouge, LA, and Jeffrery Moore of Fort Worth, TX; great-grandchildren, Amanda Wise of Alexandria, LA, Ethan Dunning of Ruston, LA, Johnathan Orcutt of Monterey, LA, Bryanna Bowers of Brookhaven, MS, Braeden Bowers of Ferriday, LA, Braden Moore of Baton Rouge, LA and Graycen Moore of Baton Rouge, LA; great-great-grandchildren, Emma Tarver and Ayden Wise; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Those honoring Eula as pallbearers were David Hedrick, Jacob Vanasselberg, Ryan Peairs, Bud Orcutt, Clayton Doughty, and Brendan Bowers. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Beasley and Eddie Crow.

In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Eula ask that donations be made to the American Kidney Association.
