Gloria Wright Gordon, a devoted mother, cherished grandmother, sister, and aunt passed away on August 17, 2024, at the age of 84. Born in Harrisonburg, Louisiana on June 13, 1940, to J.L. “Lank” and Ella Dosher Wright. Gloria led a fulfilling life dedicated to her family and career.
Gloria had a successful career working for the federal government, retiring as a budget analyst, receiving many awards and accomadations. She was given the opportunity to be stationed in Germany where she enjoyed traveling with friends and family, thereby exploring most of Europe.
Gloria was an avid reader which gave her great pleasure and wealth of knowledge. She also enjoyed searching through antique and thrift stores for her next treasure. Her greatest joy was that of caring for her grandchildren, great nephews, and great niece. She was always willing to help others when they were in need.
She is preceded in death by her parents, son Glen Gordon; granddaughter Katherine Gordon; and her great nephew Deven Blood Brooks.
She is survived by her son Mike (Martine) Gordon; grandson Mathieu Gordon of Lehi, UT; sisters Linda (Robert) Tedford of Wichita Falls, TX and Barbara Wright of Harrisonburg, LA.
A memorial service will be held at Birds Creek Baptist Church in Harrisonburg on Saturday, October 26, 2024 from 11:00AM to 12:00PM. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetary.
