Funeral services for Laurice (L.D.) Dale Edwards, 86, of Larto, Louisiana were held Saturday at 11:00 am at The First Baptist Church of Jonesville with Brothers Paul Piro, Todd Whittington and Gary Norris as officiates. Interment followed immediately for family and friends at The Edwards Family Cemetery in Larto (941 Highway 3102, Jonesville, at the residence of Chet Edwards) under the direction of Young's Funeral Home. The family received friends and loved ones on Saturday, April 19, 2025 from 9:00 am until time of service.
L.D. was born January 28, 1939 in Jonesville, Louisiana and passed away in Alexandria, Louisiana and went to his heavenly address on Tuesday, April 15, 2025. L.D. was a building contractor and had a building supply in Jonesville for several years. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, cooking at the camp and riding his dozer. He especially loved being head chef at the camp while entertaining his hunting crew.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Edwards, Sr. and Yvonne White Edwards; grandsons, Lee Edwards and Derek Edwards; brother Dwight Edwards; sisters, Jeanette Edwards Sanders and Patricia Edwards LaPrairie.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 23 years, Touzette LaRavia-Edwards; sons, Chris Edwards and Chet Edwards (Lisa); daughter Cherisse Edwards Book (Kenney); bonus children, Lee LaRavia and Lauren LaRavia; brothers, Lawrence Edwards, Jr. (Jo) and Mickey Edwards (Robin); grandchildren, Jessica Edwards, Ryan Edwards, Demi Edwards, Meagan Book, Ariana Dulworth (Willis); bonus grandchildren; Sarah LaRavia Strong (Bryan), Ben LaRavia, Caleb Tucker, Eli Tucker, Naomi Tucker and Noah Navarro; Sister-in-law Linda Edwards and Brother-in-law Nelson LaPrairie; three great-grandsons, one great grand-daughter; one bonus great-grandson with a bonus great-granddaughter on the way. A host of nieces and nephews.
