Graveside services for Carvel “Cobby” White, 85 of Wildsville, LA were held at Evangeline Baptist Church Cemetery on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at 10:00 AM with Bro. Dennis Baker and Father Louis Sklar officiating, under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home. The family received friends at Young’s Funeral Home, Jonesville from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Tuesday, April 22, 2025.
Cobby was born on Wednesday, March 6, 1940 in Book, LA and passed away Monday, April 21, 2025 in Alexandria, LA. He was a teacher, JV Coach, principal, and farmer.
He was preceded in death by his father, Herman Cornelious White; mother, Effie Paulk White; son-in-law, Will Duncan; five brothers, Walter White, Archie White, Jack White, Pete White and H.C. White; two sisters, Marjorie White Book and Shirley White Gann.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Adrian White of Wildsville, LA; son, Tim White and his wife Christie of Wildsville, LA; daughter, Paula Duncan Fuqua and her husband Jeff of Harrisonburg, LA; grandson, Riley Duncan and his wife Jaycee of Harrisonburg, LA; granddaughter, Natalee Paul and her husband Brody of Jena, LA; three great grandchildren, Wyatt Duncan, Gatlin Paul and Walker Duncan; brother, Jimmy White of Mobile, AL, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Pallbearers were Craig Edwards, Richard Griffing, Ward Griffing, Roy Schneider, Cary Shivley and Joe Shivley.
Honorary Pallbearers were Buddy Davis, Glen Tiser, David Wade, Glenn Smith, Calvin Williams and Brandon West.
