Services for Paul Malcolm Wright were held at 10AM, Thursday, August 7, 2025 at Oak Grove Free Methodist Church, Jonesville, LA with Bro. Aaron Jolly and Bro. Beau Edwards officiating. Visitation was 5PM until 9PM, Wednesday, August 6th, and from 8AM until time of service at 10AM, Thursday, August 7th, at the church. Interment was at Heard Cemetery, Manifest, LA under the direction of Magnolia Funeral Home, Alexandria, LA.
Paul M. Wright, 87, of Jonesville, LA, passed away Monday, August 4, 2025 at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Medical Center, Alexandria, LA. His hobbies included gardening, hunting, fishing with grandkids, and drinking coffee with friends. He loved sharing stories of his life experiences to anyone who came along.
He was a faithful servant of God and the church, the community and his country. He was very proud of his military service and would encourage others to serve as well. Besides home, the church was his favorite place to be. He enjoyed the fellowship with other people whom he considered to be family.
His greatest joy on earth was spending time with his family, especially the great grandkids. They brought him endless joy and he loved them beyond words. He will be greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to call him, husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mattie Wright; brothers, George Wright and Jimmy Wright; sisters, Mildred Treanor, Doris Blaney, Sarah Cockerham, Carol Aplin and Margaret Brooks.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Clara Wright; children, Teresa McCaskill (Randy) and Tracy Boswell (Randy); grandchildren, Derrick McCaskill (Mandy), Kayla Boothe, Crystal Skinner (Nelson) and Dustin Mock (Paige); fourteen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; siblings, Russell Wright (Michelle), Donald Wright (Barbara), Patsy White and Alice White.
Pallbearers were Jerry Wayne Grant, Mike Davis, Charlie Sikes, Brian Wright, Kenny Blaney and Larry O’Gwynn.
Honorary pallbearers were Lane Book, Carlos Coleman, James Deville, Randy McCaskill, Nelson Skinner, Randy Boswell, Dustin Mock and Derrick McCaskill.
