Services for Jay Townsend were at 1PM, Friday, October 17, 2025 at New Ouachita Baptist Church, Enterprise, LA, with Nathan Roark officiating. Visitation was Friday at the church from 10AM until time of services. Internment followed at Heard Cemetary, Manifest, LA, under the direction of Magnolia Funeral Home, Alexandria, LA.
Jay Townsend, 69, of Harrisonburg, LA, passed away October 14, 2025 at his residence. He was a retired electrician for Concordia Electric, an avid fisherman and hunter that loved spoiling his grandkids, and a veteran of the United States Navy.
Jay is preceded in death by his father, Floyd Townsend, Sr.; mother, Mary Townsend; brothers, Rodney and Wayne Townsend; sister, Darlene Wiley; and grandson, Anthony Coleman.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Crystal Coleman; son, Wesley Townsend; daughter, Kortney Brooke Townsend; sister, Rosa Meng; brother, Floyd Townsend, Jr.; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Richard Brown, Layne Brown, Cory Paulk, Landon Wiley, Justin Meredith, and Lee Franklin.
