Services for Johnny Ray Whatley will be at 2PM Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at Good Road Pentecostal Church, Jonesville, LA, with Bro. Chad Franklin and Bro. Arlie Rowley officiating. Visitation will be at the Church on Wednesday 11AM until time of services. Interment will follow at Eden Cemetery, Jena, LA, under the direction of Magnolia Funeral Home, Alexandria, LA.
Johnny Ray Whatley, 90, of Jonesville, LA, passed away October 17, 2025 at The Columns Nursing and Rehabilitation, Jonesville, LA.
He was an avid LSU fan and loved his wife of 69 years. He was a very witty man that loved to people. Johnny treated everyone like they were family. He was not only the patriarch of the family, he was the celebrity of The Columns.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Martha Whatley; daughter, Paula Ann Whatley; son, Michael Whatley; grandson, Kaden Laprairie and granddaughter, Sandy Lee Serda.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Martha Whatley of Jonesville; sons, Jimmy Whatley, Sr. and wife Pam of Monterey, Randy Whatley and wife LeAnne of Ferriday, Donny Whatley and wife Chona of Jonesville; 12 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Jimmy Whatley, Jr., Tommy Whatley, Hunter Whatley, Greg Travis, Jaylon Foster and Jeffrey Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Whatley and Callen Evans.
