Idee “Jane” Martin was born on Friday, April 14, 1944, in Harrisonburg, LA, and passed away Friday, December 5, 2025 in Alexandria, LA surrounded by her sons.
Jane was an extraordinary woman whose life was defined by hard work, devotion, and unwavering love for her family. She and her husband, Clarence, always put their sons first, raising them with strong values, steady guidance, and a whole lot of love. Jane was a caregiver in every sense of the word—whether tending to her husband, looking after her brother, or stepping in wherever she was needed, she did so without hesitation. Family was her world, and she embraced every role with pride: daughter, wife, mother, sister, and aunt.
Her dedication extended far beyond her home. Jane worked tirelessly as a waitress and seamstress, and she wasn’t afraid to roll up her sleeves on the farm, working cattle and hauling hay with determination. Her commitment to her community was equally admirable, serving honorably as an elected official on the Catahoula Parish School Board.
Jane’s strength, compassion, and selfless spirit touched countless lives. She leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and devotion that will be remembered always. She will be deeply missed.
She is reunited with her husband, Clarence Martin, Sr.; son, Clarence Martin, Jr; parents, Bueford Honeycutt and Mary Lee Hughes Honeycutt; and siblings, Robert Alder Honeycutt, Margaret Green, Roy Lee Honeycutt, and George 'Bud' Dozier Honeycutt.
Those left behind to cherish Jane's memories are her sons, Ricky Wayne Martin and Donna of Central, LA, Robert Martin and wife Alison of Central, LA, and Rodger Martin and wife Deborah of Conroe, TX; grandchildren, Chad Mayo and wife Briana, Heather Callender and husband Craig, Kyle Mayo, Alec Martin, Noah Martin, Myla Martin, Tiffany Buchanan and husband Chris, and Chase Martin and wife Madison; great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Marlee, Julian, Kennedy, Caroline, Levi, Lyla, and soon-to-be Liam; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
