Services for Ida B. Brown were at 11AM, Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Evergreen Baptist Church, Jonesville, LA, with Pastor Wilmore Long officiating.

Ida was born to Edna and Rankin Jenkins from Archie, LA. As a small child she moved to Los Angeles, CA where she was raised by Edna and Will Thomas. She was baptized at an early age at Welcome Baptist Church and lived in Los Angeles for 40 years before retiring and returned back to Jonesville, LA.

Ida also had a cosmetology career, having owned and ran two beauty salons during the 80’s-90’s. She owned and operated “The First Lady’s Fashion Clothing Boutique in the early to mid 90’s.

Ida was petite, sassy and feisty. She was a fashion icon and diva. She believed in the 3 P’s; Paint, Powder, and Perfume. The running joke was that she was ‘’Difficult and Expensive.”

She was a long standing member of Allen Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in California, where she was a greeter, hostess, and announcement clerk. She won the Queen’s Award for the banquet in 1980.

She was a long standing member of the Pure Light Baptist Church in Trinity, LA from 1997-2024.

Her current membership was held at Evergreen Baptist Church in Archie La, near Texaco Town.

She loved children, all children. She was a mother that played an integral part in raising her own children and many other children as well as her grand and great grandchildren. She loved them all dearly. She even stepped in and raised the five Williams boys single handedly..

She was the “Cruise Queen”, she enjoyed traveling by cruise and was able to visit and enjoy many vacation destinations. From Alaska, the Land of The Midnight Sun, to Hong Kong, and Taiwan in the far east.

Left behind to cherish her memories, her children, Indra, Marina, ET, Armes, Cynthia, Michelle; brother, Sam Devine; her grand and great grandchildren, Mykel, Dewayne, J. R., Issac, Care, Jerry, Eddie, Louise, Noah, MeAsia, Maliya, Tyrone and Dee.

She was preceded in death by Keisha, Nikko, and Kevin.

Ida’s family is beyond thankful for all of the flowers, calls, cards, food and words of encouragement during this difficult time.
