Eugene “Eddie” Miller, Jr., was a man of many accomplishments. He was born on May 13, 1951, and passed from this life on earth on June 15, 2025, surrounded by those he loved.
Eddie’s legacy is one of integrity, resilience, and love. Our daddy did not tell us how to live; he lived and let us watch him do it and learn from it. His love was a guiding light and though he is gone, his light will forever shine through us.
Eddie was a man of faith in his Savior, hard work, strength, honesty, and enduring love. His love for horsemanship and rodeo brought joy to him and everyone he encountered while forming long-lasting friendships. He worked hard and played harder. His work in life included; offshore, oil field, farmer, cotton gin owner, owner of construction company, refineries and power houses- and forever and always a trainer of horses. He was a cowboy making friends wherever he went. Eddie only saw people as a person, not race, religion or what was in your bank account. He treasured his Navajo friends. He created memories for us that would stand the test of time. His kindness, generosity and love for his family will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
Eddie was a devoted husband for 44 years to his wife, Debbie Sikes Miller; a loving father to his children, Chad and wife Regina, Chris and wife Chantel, Kristy Miller and Jessi Miller Gillespie and husband Cameron; a very proud grandfather (Paw) to Wade and wife Bethanny, Hunter and fiancé Bre, Austin and fiancé Jessalynn, Alayna and husband John, Abby, Ryland, and Eli, Reid Kennedy and wife Olivia; a loving great-grandfather to several great-grandchildren. Also left to cherish his memory are his mother, Betty Miller Hoggatt; two sisters, Sherrie Braswell, and Rhonda Miller Thorne; brother by choice, Johnny ”Heck” Allbritton, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Special friends are Wade, Hunter, Austin. Other friends left to cherish his memory are Chris and Tosha Herman, Moochie and Krissy Coleman, Mike Calhoun, Heathe Loupe, Patricia Bringol Strickland, Mark and Sharon Squires, Jimmie Jo Huff and her two girls, Steve and Jolynn Miller, Markham Tolliver, Connor and Dusty Cureington, James Markey and Todd Bradford.
He is preceded in death by his father, Eugene Miller, Sr.; bonus parents, JL and Sue Sikes; brother Mike Sikes.
