Funeral services for Evelyn Eloise Hughes, 78, of Jonesville, were held at 1:00PM, Saturday, July 13, 2024, at First Baptist Church in Harrisonburg with Bro. Joe Weaver and Robert Bradley officiating. Interment followed at Oak Grove Cemetery in Manifest under the direction of Young’s Community Memorial Funeral Home, Winnsboro.
The family received friends for visitation on Friday, July 12, 2024, from 6PM -9PM at the church.
Eloise was born December 11, 1945, in Franklin Parish and passed from this life on July 10, 2024, in Jonesville.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Rastus and Ethel Hendrick Simms; her brothers, Harold Simms, J.W. Simms, Gary Simms, Glenn Simms, Dale Simms; and her sister Juanita Simms.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald Hughes; her children, Michael Todd Hughes, and wife Cindy, of Summitt, MS, and Susan Doughty, and husband Kevin, of Manifest, LA; her grandchildren, Jake Doughty, and wife Lindsay, of Manifest, Wesley Doughty, and wife Emily, of Sour Lake, TX., Ryan Hughes of Sterling, VA, Faith Hughes of Salt Lake City, UT, and Landon Hughes of Kelly, LA; her great-grandchild, Della Doughty; her sister- in-law, Annette Simms, plus a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Pallbearers were Jake Doughty, Wesley Doughty, Ryan Hughes, Landon Hughes, Ethan Kimbrough and Heath Kimbrough.
