Ida Lorraine McGuffee

Ida Lorraine McGuffee was received into Heaven on Sunday, November 3, 2024, just a few days short of her 90th birthday. Mrs. Ida was born November 8, 1934, in Ravenden, Arkansas.

Her loving husband of 47 years, Glynn Murry McGuffee, and a daughter Connie Johnson Taylor, preceded her in death.

Ida and Glynn had so many friends that they loved to entertain and host. They owned the restaurant “The Old Place” in Aimwell. Their home was always open to family, friends, and guests.

Ida enjoyed playing Pokino with her lady friends. She loved the beach and traveling and never got lost (Ha! Ha!) because she was in control of the road map.

She was the kind of “Mama” and “Meme” who loved hard and always had a way of making things fun. Her smile and sense of humor will be missed so much. Her family agrees and rejoices that she is in the arms of Jesus, her Lord and Savior.

Ida leaves behind to cherish her memory, two daughters Phyllis Garvan (Mike) of Monroe, and Carol Cooper (Marty) of Jena; two sons Kirby McGuffee (Annette) of Columbia and Layne McGuffee (Karla) of Jonesville; nine grandchildren Jenifer Armstrong (Mark), Scotty Garvan, Tyler Hamelink (Justin), Mattie K McGuffee, Kari Frantom (Scott), Jason Johnson (Nicole), Somer Barr (Ethan), Chloe McGuffee, and Carsen McGuffee; nine great-grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and a host of other family and friends.

Graveside service was held on Monday, November 4, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Spring Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Joe Weaver officiating, under the direction of Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home of Jena.
