Jesse was born on Friday, July 01, 1938 in Book, LA and passed away peacefully Thursday, November 28, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. A longtime resident of Wildsville, he was a faithful member of Jonesville Church of God. Jesse leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and adventure. A man who truly loved to work, he dedicated 20 years of his life as a crew boat captain before immersing himself in the art of turtle farming. His passion for the farm was one he shared and worked on alongside his son, Davey, creating memories and a bond that will be cherished forever.

Jesse's love of work extended beyond the farm -- he found immense joy operation his bulldozer, tackling projects with enthusiasm and pride. Whether on the farm or on his bulldozer, Jesse's strong work ethic and love for productivity inspired everyone around him. Jesse had a deep love for the great outdoors, spending countless hours hunting, fishing, and enjoying nature.

Yet, above all, he cherished his relationship with his Lord, the love of his life -- his wife Avis -- and the precious time he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of his life. Known for his steadfast faith, his family said his greatest loves were his Lord, his wife, turtles, and heavy equipment. Jesse’s legacy will live on in the memories of those he touched with his kindness and vibrant spirit. He will be deeply missed.
