The family received friends on Sunday, April 6, 2025 from 1PM until 2PM at Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday with a graveside service following.
Kaaren was born on Friday, September 4, 1942 in Ferriday, LA. and passed away Thursday, April 3, 2025 in Alexandria, LA.
Kaaren Sue took her final bow, leaving behind a lifetime of love, laughter, and just enough sass to keep things interesting. After 60 years of marriage to Billy Frank Clifton, she proved that love isn’t just about candlelit dinners—it’s about standing side by side through laughter, tears, burnt rolls, lost car keys, and a million inside jokes.
A lifelong educator, Kaaren spent years teaching in Concordia Parish schools, molding young minds and perfecting 'the teacher look' that could stop any misbehaving student—or husband—in their tracks. She believed in the power of education and the magic of a welltimed sarcastic remark.
Her greatest joy was her children and grandchildren, whom she raised with equal parts love, wisdom, and well-placed eye rolls. They never doubted her love—especially when she called just to remind them of something they already knew.
Kaaren had a quick wit, a big heart, and a knack for making life interesting. She may be gone, but her spirit—and her perfectly timed one-liners—will live on in those lucky enough to have known her. Heaven just gained a woman who will undoubtedly be reorganizing things and making sure everyone minds their manners. She is reunited with her parents, Thomas Milton Wilson, Jr. and Valda Doughty Wilson; aunt, Gladys 'Cooter' Mahoney; and friends, Wayne and Liz Magoun.
Those left behind to cherish Kaaren's memories are son, Will Clifton and his wife Miranda of Springdale, AR; daughter, Kate Neal and her husband Gary of Ferriday, LA; grandchildren, Sarah Sikes and her husband Christopher of Jonesville, LA, Milt Neal of Ferriday, LA, Jace Neal of Ferriday, LA, and Emma Kate Neal of Ferriday, LA; brother, Thomas Milton Wilson, III and his wife Laurie of Folsom, LA; great-grandchild on the way; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Those honoring Kaaren as pallbearers were Milt Neal, Jace Neal, Christopher Sikes, and Gary Neal.
