Karen Wascom

Karen Wascom was born September 28, 1951, to Charlie and Wessie Morace. Being the first of twins, she came into this world feet first and as it was said, she came into this world running and never stopped. Her love for life was ever present and she gave it 110 percent. Those who were fortunate to be her family and friends felt the complete force of that love.

At the young age of 14, she met her husband to be at Eva Church of God on a blind date with Charles Wascom, also known as “Warsaw” to others, the nick name says it all. After serving his country by fighting in Vietnam he returned home to marry her on November 22, 1968. They had two children, Sharon and Dennis and two grandchildren, Kalene and Dalton. They were married for 55 years until the death of Charles on January 3, 2024. Karen had been battling a weak heart and on September 30, 2024, her fight was over and she joined the love of her heart.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon A. Mooney and husband Gerald Mooney; son, Dennis Wascom and wife Sharon Y. Wascom; two grandchildren, Kalene Ainsworth and husband Derek Ainsworth, Dalton Wascom and wife Alaina Wascom; and soon to be great-grandson, Dean Bear Wascom who is expected on January 5, 2025.
