Funeral services for Lillie Katherine Wright Wyles Purvis, 87, of Jonesville, LA were held at Wallace Ridge Baptist Church on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at 1PM with Bro. Jack Crain officiating. Interment followed at Heard Cemetery in Manifest, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home. The family received friends on Tuesday at the church from 11AM until service time at 1PM.
Katherine was born on Monday, September 12, 1938 in Jonesville , LA. and passed away Saturday, December 6, 2025 at her home surrounded by loved ones.
She is reunited with her late husband, Charles 'Billy' Wyles; parents, Moody Dwight Wright and Rosalea Dosher Wright; brother, Bobby Wright; and daughter- in-law, Judy Wright Wyles.
Those left behind to cherish Katherine's memories are her current husband, Melvin Alen Purvis of Jonesville, LA; daughter, Vickie Sue Bass and her husband Shane of Jonesville, LA; son, Larry Kevin Wyles of Gaffney, SC; daughter, Brenda Ann Higdon and her husband Joe of Jonesville, LA; bonus, Curtis Jones of Lafayette, LA; sisters, Pamela Wilson and her husband Bill of Starkville, MS and Peggy Willms and her husband Gary of Old Hickory, TN; grandchildren, Rachel King and her husband Kalon, Cody Bass, Ramsey Wyles, Katie Vinzant and her husband Alex, Elijah Mc-Cormack and his wife Victoria, Jolyn Willis and her husband Ashton, Jodie Higdon, and Alexis Peyton and her husband Colby; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Those honoring Katherine as pallbearers were Shane Bass, Joe Higdon, Kalon King, Cody Bass, Elijah Mc-Cormack, Curtis Jones, Alex Vinzant, and Colby Peyton.
Honorary pallbearers were Bill Wilson, Gary Willms, Ron Friend, Shane Wright, and Jonathan Wilson.
