Graveside services for Marjorie Henderson Coleman, 87, of Jonesville, LA will be held at Woodland Memorial Cemetery in Jena, LA on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at 2PM with Sister Kim Cook officiating, under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Marjorie was born on Tuesday, July 14, 1936, in Jonesville, LA and passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2023, in Jonesville, LA. She was an epitome of a true caregiver. Marjorie’s heart is woven into every recipe she reads, and her kitchen is a canvas where culinary magic happens. As a devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and so much more, her love knows no bounds. Her skill in making food transcends mere sustenance; it’s an art form that brings joy and comfort. Whether crafting a family-favorite dish or experimenting with new flavors, Marjorie’s kitchen is a hub of love, laughter, and cherished memories. She embodied the essence of nurturing, creating a legacy of warmth and delicious moments for all who gather around her table.
She is reunited with her husband, David Monroe Coleman, Sr.; parents, Albert Leon Henderson, and Drusilla Spinks Henderson; son, David Monroe Henderson, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Karen Coleman; and sisters, Kathleen Henderson, and Carol Landry.
Those left behind to cherish Mrs. Marjorie’s memories are her son, Albert Leon Coleman of Jonesville, LA; daughter, Brenda Perilloux and her husband Glen of Vidalia, LA; brother-inlaw, Larry Landry of Niceville, FL; grandchildren, Misty Cater and her husband Jordy of MS, Coley Cater and his wife Annette of Newellton, LA, and Laura Perilloux Lyons and her husband Stafford of Shreveport, LA; great-grandchildren, Chrystina Herron and Tiffany Herron; great-great-grandchildren, Jaxon Lee and Bexlee Ann Marie; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be Glen Perilloux, Larry Landry, Jeff DiMauro, JH Spinks, Phillip Spinks, Jackie Coleman, Roy Coleman, Clarence Duncan, GL Coleman, and Coley Cater.
The family will receive friends at Woodland Memorial Cemetery on December 13, 2023, from 1:30PM until service time at 2PM.
