Graveside services for Maurice “Moe” Truman Eubanks, 72, of Ruston, LA were held at Heard Cemetery in Manifest, LA on Sunday, October 15, 2023, with Reverend Elbert Sanson officiating under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home. Maurice was born Sunday, September 9, 1951, in Harrisonburg, LA, and passed away Friday, October 13, 2023, in Ruston. He spent two remarkable decades dedicated to life on a tugboat, navigating the vast waters of the Mississippi with determination and expertise. Maurice enjoyed spending moments sharing stories of times past. He also had a strong relationship with the bible and loved discussing scripture with anyone he could. He adored horses and found solace in their graceful presence. His loyal dogs were his closest companions, sharing his zest for life. Maurice lived life in the fast lane, embracing every adventure and leaving behind a trail of memories. Maurice’s legacy will forever remind us to live with passion, courage, and love for new memories.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William “Tug” and Pearl Eubanks, brother, William H. Eubanks, sister, Irma Dean Mc-Guffee, brother-in-law Ronald “Doc” McGuffee, and brother-in-law James Marty Dray.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Gloria Dray of Monroe, LA, and Gnita Ellen and her husband Johnny of Monroe, LA, sister-in-law, Jean Eubanks, and a host of nieces and nephews.
