Stanford, affectionately known as “Buddy” or “Poppa Bud”, was a life-long resident of Jonesville and a member of First Baptist Church of Jonesville. He worked at Southern LP Gas for over 40 years and served his country in the Army National Guard from 1964 to 1974.

He was always the life of the party and loved to tease those around him, especially his granddaughters; he could make anyone laugh. As a child, Stanford’s grandfather told him that his epitaph would say, “There lies the truth because he ain’t never told it.” He was proud to tell anyone about his days playing football at Block High School and what a great team they had. Poppy was devoted to his LSU Tigers and never missed watching a game. He also loved cutting his grass, bailing hay, and deer hunting.

He was preceded in death by his father, Stanford Richardson, Sr. and mother, Georgia Bennett Richardson, sisters, Joyonne Richardson Brooks and Lynne Richardson.

Left to cherish his memories are his spouse of 58 years, Sandra Richardson of Jonesville; son, Stan Richardson and wife Nikki of Jonesville; daughter, Tiffany Craig and husband Reginald of Deville; granddaughters, Ashlyn and Jessie; and multiple nieces and nephews.

Honored to serve as pallbearers were Stan Richardson, Reginald Craig, Mike Bennett, Larry McKinnery, Butch Riley, and Al Cadwallader. Honorary pallbearers were David Coon, Buddy Green, David Alvin Chevallier and Thomas Bourgoyne.
