Block Bears kick off the ‘24 season

Last Friday night, our Block High School Bears played their first game of the season against the Buckeye Panthers.Ending the first quarter, neither team had scored. Around three minutes into the second quarter, the Panthers scored the first touchdown, then kicked an extra point.

Block Bears earn preseason wins

Block High School (BHS) Bears showed up and showed out in the Jamboree at Delhi last weekend.The final score of the football game was Bears 24 to 0. This was the Bears taking their second win in preseason action.The players and coaches enjoyed a treat from Popeye’s, before heading home.

The Louisiana 4-H Shooting Sports Team won their fourth national championship in the last five years. The 36-member team competed in Grand Island; Nebraska held June 2328.

The Catahoula Canes baseball team had three games this past week in Alexandria, finishing the week with a record of 2-1.The Canes took a lead and never looked back in the first win against Northwest. The Canes easily dispatched Northwest by a score of 13-3 on Thursday.
