As the end of the 2023/2024 school year nears, Sicily Island High School 4 H Club is looking back on our second semester. We sold 185 dozen Krispy Kreme donuts in a fundraiser, which helped raise money for Hope House Homeless Shelter in Alexandria.

Legislature inches closer to banning sanctuary cities

(The Center Square) – Legislation banning sanctuary cities in Louisiana was passed 73-26 in the House of Representatives on Monday.Senate Bill 208 would require state and local law enforcement agencies to cooperate with federal immigration authorities and support the enforcement of immigration law.

Harrisonburg Heritage Festival thankful to community

The Village of Harrisonburg Service League held its annual Harrisonburg Heritage Festival on Saturday, April 27th. The whole community enjoyed a fun day of activities and celebration. The Short Street was lined with vendors offering a wide variety of crafts and treats.

Jonesville Main Street Open House accommodates standing room only

Interest for restoring and re-vitalizing downtown Jonesville drew an impressive crowd last Friday evening when business owners and local citizens showed up for the Main Street Open House hosted by the organizations steering committee.
