Hemabartonella, also known as Mycoplasma haemofelis, is a bacterial parasite that can infect cats and cause a condition called feline infectious anemia. It is transmitted through tick bites and can also be transmitted through blood transfusions or from an infected mother cat to her kittens.

Catahoula Parish Police Jury (CPPJ) barn employees worked last week to improve infrastructure throughout the parish. Barn Supervisor Buck Atkins and crews worked on projects, focusing on areas in need of the most attention.

Police jury host ethics training class

The Catahoula Parish Police Jury hosted an ethics and sexual harassment training course last Monday. Mandatory training is required in the state of Louisiana for each public servant. CPPJ also requires employees to attend the hour long course.
