(The Center Square) — After years on the endangered species list, black bears will once again be hunted in Sportsman's Paradise.Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry made the announcement during a news conference Monday alongside Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Secretary Madison Sheahan.

There’s a light at the end of the tunnel for Town of Jonesville (TOJ) residents who’ve been experiencing power outages. Mayor Loria Hollins announced maintenance and improvements to Jonesville’s substation are slated to begin the first of the new year.

An extremely low electoral turnout last Saturday decided the fate of sales tax in Jonesville and Catahoula Parish. Statewide four Constitutional Amendments were on the ballot. In Catahoula Parish 14.8 percent of registered voters cast their vote.

Sadly, many residents at Columns Nursing Home are not accustomed to having visitors on a regular basis. So, it was a surprise when students involved in the Catahoula CoAction Program (CCA) arrived last week.
