Special election coming

Special elections tend to be lightly attended by the voters, but we have one coming up on December 7, 2024. The purpose is the authorization and dedication of a one cent sales tax. Fortunately, this particular tax will not increase our current tax burden.

I had previously read Miracle at Philadelphia by Catherine Drinker Bowen. I recently read The American Miracle by Michael Medved. I was blown away by their recounting of our nation’s founding. The fact that both books include the word “miracle” in their titles is no coincidence.

A better tax plan

Police Jury President Rodney Sones’ page one letter in the News Booster on Wednesday, September 11 th , 2024, laid out the plan for a rededication of a one cent sales tax. The voters will decide in a referendum scheduled for December 7th, 2024, whether or not they approve.
