Brandon Welch charged with second degree rape appeared in court before the Honorable Judge John Reeves. Defense counsel made a motion, Paul Lemke, to modify the seal order to allow appellate counsel as well as Welch access to sealed records.Judge Reeves granted the motion to modify the seal order.

Christian Tyler Book was set for a misdemeanor arraignment on charges of driving under suspension and failure to register vehicle. Book failed to appear and bench warrant issued on November 19th, is to remain outstanding. Book’s drivers license was ordered suspended.

Little Miss Victoria Rose Riley was born at 12:00am at Rapides Women’s and Children’s Hospital on January 1st and weighed seven pounds and four ounces. Momma Dawn and baby are doing well.

Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Jonesville was vandalized last week and the damage to the building and its contents are extensive. Pastor Timothy Bowie said the congregation will not be able to meet there again until the building is restored and the sanctuary contents are replaced.
