Concordia Electric’s next regular board meeting is scheduled for February 8th at 5pm.Catahoula Parish retired teachers will meet at Jackie’s restaurant at 5PM on January 23rd to discuss legislation and other business concerning teachers in the parish. There will be entertainment and door prizes.

Charles Cicero Finley was born February 27, 1887, at Manifest, to Maggie and Hansford Duncan Finley. He was working making staves at the sawmill in 1914 when Ford Ellis approached him on horseback. Ellis wanted Finley to come to work for him as his deputy.

The Catahoula Parish School System has formally announced the 2024 Student of the Year winners for 5th, 8th, and 12th grades. The students were evaluated based on a written essay, a student portfolio, and an interview conducted by a panel of retired teachers, counselors and administrators.

Open House for Northeast Louisiana Substance Abuse’s (NELSA) office in Catahoula Parish brought new activity to the courthouse and hope for those fighting addiction. NELSA Executive Director, Gloria Wright, welcomed those in attendance and shared how the Catahoula branch came about.
