On Monday, October 6, 2025, an inmate at Catahoula Correctional Center (CCC) tragically passed away following what appears to be a drug-related incident involving contraband. The incident occurred shortly after CCC processed a group of inmate transfers from Morehouse Parish.

Catahoula Parish Coroner Raymond Rouse has confirmed the death of a 41-yearold male, Corey Lee following a single-vehicle accident that occurred in the early morning hours of Sunday, October 12, 2025. The incident took place at Edwards Motel on Fourth Street in Jonesville.
