I used to really look forward to the holiday season. It was a time when drinking was accepted and expected. “Merry Christmas, what can I get you to drink?' and 'let's celebrate' were the festive greetings that I looked forward too as an experienced drinker.

JES Cub Chronicles 2023-24

Jonesville Elementary School’s newspaper, Cub Chronicles, is published four times a year. Reporters/ writers for the publication are the members of Bear Pride Club. Club members must be in the 4th and 5th grade and achieved a score of Mastery or Advanced on the LEAP.

Little River Road gate controversy

A civil lawsuit won in early 2000 declared Little River Road as a Catahoula Parish public road all the way to the LaSalle Parish line and required a locked gate obstructing traffic be removed.

Candidates qualified for March 23rd election

Qualifying ended Friday, Dec. 15, for the candidates planning to run for the March 23 primary and April 27 general elections. Voters will select the presidential preference for each ticket in the March election.
