Jonesville Town Council and Mayor Loria Hollins opened the regular monthly meeting on February 12, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. immediately following a Public Hearing concerning a natural gas rate increase.

A missing fifteen year old from Sunshine Home in Vidalia has been found and therefore ruled out as being the body found in the Ouachita River.

Audit fnds payroll issues with state Department of Revenue

(The Center Square) — The Louisiana Department of Revenue has not maintained adequate controls over payroll for the last two years, increasing the risk of errors or fraud, according to the Louisiana legislative auditor.

Two persons reported missing found safe

Thankfully there was a happy ending to a report of two missing persons in the French Fork area. Catahoula Parish Sheriff's Office received a call February 7th about a 43 year old female and juvenile, family had not been in contact with for several days.

Concordia Electric confronted by consumers

Concordia Electric’s board meeting welcomed a full house of consumers last Thursday evening to discuss the February electric bills. Many consumers had increases of up to three times the normal costs.

As the midnight oil burns and no sight of a solution for ambulance service is in sight, Sheriff Edwards made a tough decision to cancel the contract with AMR Ambulance Service, but not before extending the contract for another sixty days, making for a total of 90 days from the first extension.
